Support My Economic Safety
The Support My Economic Safety resource provides guidance and reflections for people in organisations and systems who want to improve responses to economic abuse. It has been developed by CWES and Insight Exchange from the insights of women who have experienced economic abuse in the context of domestic and family violence (DFV) and includes their words as ‘case studies’ throughout.
Lived experiences of economic abuse have significant and ongoing consequences, negatively impacting all domains of wellbeing. The lived experience insights included in this resource demonstrate the significant potential for better responses, and improved design of products, services and systems to support the economic safety of victim-survivors.
Who is this resource for?
Support My Economic Safety is for anyone who may be responding to people experiencing or rebuilding from economic abuse, and for people who want to better understand this form of domestic and family violence. It may facilitate reflection by a range of organisations across all sectors including financial institutions, utility/ telco companies, insurers, accommodation providers, gaming businesses, employers, the legal sector, and government agencies.
